About the event

LA ISLA | Thursday, September 17, 2026

Featuring the Young Latino Network

The food of Puerto Rico did not arrive fully formed. It was built across centuries of encounter, resistance, and survival — Taíno agricultural traditions, African culinary techniques carried through generations, Spanish colonial influence, and the resilience of a people who absorbed all of it and made something distinctly, insistently their own.

Island Roots is a dinner that honors that inheritance. The menu is rooted in the Puerto Rican culinary tradition: slow-cooked meats, sofrito, rice and beans prepared the way they were meant to be prepared, and the flavors that have crossed oceans and endured everything.

The chef for this evening will be announced in the weeks ahead. We are taking the time to get this one right. Follow @sante.supperclub to hear it first.

All courses are served family-style — dishes are passed and shared at the communal table.
